Team Deans: Where does your passion for racing coming from?
Mike Lichtfeld: My passion for racing come from being raised around it as a little kid while my dad raced. I remember playing Hot Wheels cars in the grandstand with my brother & other kids who's family raced. My modern passion for racing comes from the desire to compete. I love & live for racing door to door & trying to find ways to succeed, both on & off the track.

Team Deans: What is your best memory growing up as a kid?

Mike Lichtfeld: I have so many memories from my dad getting back into racing in 1993 after taking a few years off starting in 1989 while my brother & I were growing up. 1) My brother & I racing to, what we thought were the best seats in the house at Dells Motor Speedway, right behind the flag man. This was when the haulers parked in the infield. 2) My dad was leading the semi feature & was on his way to advancing into the feature when he ran out of gas! The race gas was in the upper pit at Dells. 3) I also loved running around the pits after the races getting hero cards from drivers.

Team Deans: When you aren’t at the shop or the track what are you typically doing?

Mike Lichtfeld: I keep busy with the family business, Country Plumber. I enjoy going to Badger, Packer & Brewer games along with country music concerts. I also am in my 8th year of being the freshman boys basketball head coach for the Lodi School district.

Team Deans: How do you get your racing fix in during the off-season?

Mike Lichtfeld: Lately, I've gotten into ice racing! We race old beater street cars that have snow tires on them & slide around having fun. I also enjoy snowmobiling. Coaching keeps me busy every night after work with either a practice or game.

Team Deans: If you never started racing what would you be doing on the weekends?

Mike Lichtfeld: Boating, camping, music festivals, Brewer games, watching racing.

Team Deans: What are you most excited about for the upcoming 2016 season?

Mike Lichtfeld: I look forward to continuing to grow as a driver, I think I left some good finishes on the table last year by not making good decisions behind the wheel. I feel we are growing as a team and getting more competitive every race. I also am excited to represent Team Dean's in a positive manner both on & off the track.
