Team Deans: Where does your passion for racing coming from?
Kyle Stark: My family has always been into all kinds of racing since day one. My mom and dad ran a mud drag series for many years and that was my life. My dad, uncle, brother and sister raced. I finally got old enough to start and they retired from it, so I had to stick to racing around the yard in my go-kart. I got shifted toward circle track racing with my uncle racing Jefferson and Columbus every weekend and my brother helping pit for him. I always went with and watched from the stands with my cousins every weekend until I was old enough to finally give that a try.
Team Deans: What is your best memory growing up as a kid?
Kyle Stark: My best memory as a kid is being at the racetrack every week being one of the first people in the stands every Friday and Saturday. I always hid so I didn’t have to pay admission, then I had more money for candy and soda that night.
Team Deans: When you aren’t at the shop or the track what are you typically doing?
Kyle Stark: I think everyone knows it’s rare when I’m not in the shop either getting my cars ready at the last minute or working on other peoples cars. I can never say no when someone asks for help on their car. When that time does come I enjoy hanging out at the bar with friends or playing Legos and Hot Wheels with my boy. I also love boating out on the lake for a relaxing day.
Team Deans: How do you get your racing fix in during the off-season?
Kyle Stark: Usually we get some friends together and hit up some indoor go-kart tracks. always makes for a good time. The biggest offseason fix is racing parties, racing auctions, car shows, etc. Even if we aren’t racing I’d say it’s just as fun being around the people that you are used to seeing every week during the year. Racing is just a big ol' family.
Team Deans: If you never started racing what would you be doing on the weekends?
Kyle Stark: I’d probably have more money for starters. I couldn't even see myself doing anything else with my life. Life would seem boring without racing.
Team Deans: What are you most excited about for the upcoming 2016 season?
Kyle Stark: My son Karter getting into racing is going to top my 2016 season. Watching him love racing just as much as I do and for him to be able to get behind the wheel at the same tracks that I race at is very exciting and even more for him. I’m excited to see all the new 4cyl racing series starting around the area. This year is going to make for a FUN year.
